Last night we received a phone call from my husband's mom that Grandma was being taken to the hospital. It's not looking as though she'll be with us much longer, so I'm going to jump ahead to what I'm thankful for today:
I'm most thankful for a wonderful grandmother-in-law who accepted me into the family from day one as though I was ALWAYS her granddaughter. She showed me what it was like having a grandma. Not that I didn't have grandmothers, mind you, but one lived north of Traverse City and I didn't see her much (she passed away at the very early age of 68 when I was only 13-years-old) and the other actually lived next door (the country kind of next door) but she wasn't what I call a "normal" grandma. She needed our help and our relationship was more like an adult taking care of a child (me being the adult and she being the child).
So here I meet a grandma, one that I dreamed about having all my life! Both Grandma Bea and Grandpa Lee were special and I'm thankful that my life was blessed with their presence.
As I prepare to go to The Memory Boutique open house, I'll be praying for you, Grandma Bea, and I love you to pieces! xoxoxox
