I grew up on a farm and lived there for 22 years, married a city-slicker/couch potato and have lived in the suburbs since we were married in 1992. 2015 brought about injury and illness for my parents and my family has moved in with my folks to care for them and to manage the day-to-day activity on the farm. From the "Burbs" to the "Farm" has brought back many memories, lots of hard work and a feeling of accomplishment every single day. Join me on my journey of living the country life!

The Titantic
My daughter's 1st grade class entered a gingerbread contest sponsored by a local bookstore. The theme had to be something read in a book, and the winner would get gift cards to buy books for the classroom.
The competition was tough and I was in awe of the creativity and great ideas in each of these projects.
Our kids just finished reading The Magic Treehouse book about the Titanic and voted as a class to make it into a gingerbread display. With the guidance of a very creative mom (certainly NOT ME!), they came up with this...
and won! Congratulations!
